Plan Zheroes are bringing to Hackney House an afternoon of delicious nibbles (made from food that would have gone to waste!) and to celebrate the launch of their surplus food re-distribution project in Hackney.
- Learn about their innovative model that is getting lovely high quality food such as fruit and veg and artisan bread to charities.
- Hear how charities and their service users have benefitted from using surplus food and our free service.
- Meet other local food businesses, charities and volunteers and see how you can work together to get surplus food to people who need it.
They'll be joined by Rubies in the Rubble who will be serving you their fantastic chutneys made from surplus fruit and veg. RSVP now to stay updated as we confirm more exciting food and speakers.

About Plan Zheroes
Plan Zheroes is a registered charity that is on a mission to save good food from going to waste and getting it to people who need it! To do this we have created an online community which makes it easy for businesses that have surplus food to find charities that need it and vice versa. Both sides save money and help people and the planet. We also have a team of fabulous zheroes – zero food waste hero volunteers - who help make connections and get the food from A to B.
About the Hackney Pilot
Plan Zheroes’ Hackney Pilot will focus on using our free innovative online platform to create a local, self-sustaining network for the redistribution of surplus food in the borough. It will aim to provide quality surplus food to families on the breadline, the elderly or isolated, community groups, homeless people or anyone else who needs it and help provide them with the nutrition and sustenance that they need to stay healthy.
